The Fountain of Youth?
Despite its lack of FDA approval, hGH is being marketed by some as a miracle drug that can halt the aging process. As we get older, we lose bone density and see a decrease in lean muscle mass. Some feel that it is the decline in hGH that accelerates this process, and that by using injections of the drug we can slow aging. Heavily marketed over the Internet, growth hormone is said to improve skin elasticity, increase muscle mass, decrease fat tissue, improve memory, enhance sexual performance, increase energy, and promote cardiovascular health. The pronouncement of hGH as an anti-aging therapy has been controversial, with many calling these claims exaggerated and misleading.
